Registration

All horses (life registration)$15
Transfer$15

All registrations (whether stallion, mare or gelding) cost $15. We register horses that are 25% or greater Friesian, including purebreds. AFWHS registered purebred geldings may compete for Hi-point awards. Purebred stallions and mares are registered as foundation (breeding) stock only.

Hopefully you will have purchased a horse that is already registered, and all that is required is a transfer of ownership. The seller should supply a signed transfer form to the buyer.

Click here to download a transfer application.

The person registering a Friesian Warmblood needs to be a current AFWHS member. In order to register a horse, a certificate of service needs to be supplied. This shows the stallion and mare used, date of service and confirmation of pregnancy of the mare. If required you are able to purchase these from the secretary of the AFWHS.

If you have purchased the horse without a certificate of service, a statutory declaration from mare owner and stallion owner will need to be supplied confirming names of mare and stallion used, date of service, conformation of pregnancey of the mare, with the mare owner supplying the foaling date. Please contact the Secretary to discuss.

Please use only current Australian Friesian Warmblood Horse Society application for registration forms (identifiable by horse surrounded by map of Australia) not the old Friesian Warmblood registration forms as they are no longer valid. When filling out the registration please mark whirls by putting small o where the whirl is, small x marks any scars the horse may have. Also shade out any white markings; you do not need to mark if your horse is bay with black legs. Please supply two clear, sharp photos; preferably a side view and a front view.

Breeders should register foals before they are sold. Please note that as the horse gets older, sometimes information like service certificates get lost, making it harder for people to get horses registered. Once they are registered, they are registered for life.

Registration documents are NOT to be altered in any way.

Registration forms are not available electronically. If you require a registration form, please fill in a membership form first - tick the box to request a registration form.
